Least expensive, exactly the same as expensive ones
Alibaba product? Works well until it doesn't, so why spend more? Had same model for long time, needed second one so this is it. Works well and very useful.

Game Changing Gardening Tool
I live in Florida and have a love for succulent gardening. The weather is hot and rainy and trying to determine the right growing conditions can be challenging. This meter was incredibly easy to use and accurate for a great price! You just stick the meter into the soil and it instantly provides you with moisture, light and pH readings to help you determine whether you need to water more or less, light needs and if your soil is acidic or not. This meter is definitely a game changer!

OK, a bit awkward to use
I used it while doing my fall planting and the pH reading on this matched that from another type of home test. What bugged me about this is that the face points to the side rather than up. Due to this I think it is only suitable for using on potted plants where you can set them at eye level. Trying to look at it in a garden involves contortions. I guess I will scoop samples into a jar for testing. I just hoped it would be quick & easy to just stab this in and ta-da, got your pH reading. I got it to replace a kit that uses color changing chemicals because I was tired of fussing with "science experiments". So I'm taking off a star for the annoyance factor. But it gets the job done, so overall I'm pretty satisfied.

Don't waste your money - breaks quickly
worked great the first couple of times, but almost caused me to kill a couple of plants because I didn't realize it had quit working, since it registered slightly, so kept putting additives in the soil around my plants every few days, to bring my soil ph levels up, with little success. There is no battery or anything to 'fix' so I'll have to pitch it and remind myself of the adage that you 'get what you pay for'.

House Plant Hobby (Tend to over water then you need this!) Helper
I am THAT person who tends to overwater houseplants and this prevents that. It is accurate and is an excellent value for the money. All of my plants from the expensive ones to the more common are doing much better as I can immediately know if they are at the right ph, have enough moisture, and then proceed accordingly. It has made a huge difference and has saved several plants already. If you are new to the hobby or not this is a key tool to have. I would recommend - have had it for a while and it is sturdy and consistent in its findings. Just get it, you will not regret it!!!

Works great; may break easily in tougher soils.
Affordable, accurate, and easy to use. Unfortunately, it does not seem to handle well against heavy clay soils and the sensor cover broke within a few weeks. May work better for others under different conditions.

Handy tool for houseplant and garden prep
Sincegrouns is still frozen where I live, I have only far used this to help me figure out problems with houseplants. My home gets very little natural light, so the light meter has helped me figure out best placement to keep my indoor plants healthy. The moisture meter is nice. With the dry winter air, just feeling the top of the soil is not always reliable to tell when my plants truly need watering. I have struggled to keep plants alive as long as we have lived in our current home. Hopefully I will have better luck now. I can’t wait to use this to test the pH of the soil for our vegetable garden this spring.

Does what it is supposed to do
Bought this as a back up to a more expensive unit to use everyday. Readings are accurate so far. For the price it seems to be a bargain. Would have liked it to have a tilting head like my other one but for 8 bucks you really cant go wrong here. I reside in florida with soft soil/sand so I cannot attest to its durability in hard soil.
