Amazing device
This is an amazing handheld emulator. The battery life is good even when playing some larger games. It fits in my hands perfectly and the picture quality is immaculate. I really enjoy the purple coloring. It was really simple to set up, and the screen casting was incredibly simple.

The best handheld console!
This handheld console is amazing! I researched for a lot of consoles of this type before buying one and this has everything: good price, excellent quality, and notable power to emulate a lot of great game consoles. I think is the best option out there at this moment.

Amazing device with questionable build quality
I absolutely love this device. It helped reignite the love and fun that I’ve been missing in my gaming hobby lately, I was taking it everywhere and playing constantly, it was a blast to set up (took a while and is more complicated than other devices I’ve used, but it also can do more), and with the 3d printed grip I bought it was super comfortable. I ultimately sent it back though, as I ordered it as the issues with the hinge durability were showing up, and after about 26 or 27 days my hinge developed a crack as well. I could have taken advantage of their generous exchange policy, but I figured it would just keep happening until I was out of warranty and out of luck. This truly is an amazing device, great portability, solid battery life, beautiful screen, the buttons feel nice but are a little loud. I was able to emulate up to WiiU and ps2 really easily, and it plays native android games really well too. At this point, I love the value, but the AYN Thor base model is only slightly more expensive for a dual screen device with very similar specs for around $30-50 more depending on sales, and AYN typically has better build quality than Retroid (owned by the same parent company). The hinge issues are very unfortunate, and hopefully newer batches can fix it, and if you can snag a Flip 2 on sale around $190-200 I would absolutely jump on it. Just don’t skimp on the memory card, if you’re new to emulation, your roms will take up more space than you think for the newer systems, and you’ll run out of space quick. Would absolutely recommend a 1tb micro sd for the Flip 2 at minimum, since the internal storage is only 128gb and that fills up insanely fast. Overall, if you don’t care about 2 screens and want a clamshell retro console, this absolutely should be something you consider. Once they get build quality fixed, this will be a no brainer.

Love this device. Very powerful. User friendly. Invest in a big SD card though, and watch the hinge. Be gentle (as in don't drop it or slam it shut repeatedly) and you shouldn't have issues with cracking. This device was a recent release at time of writing, so there have been some issues, but for the money, it's still one of the best emulators out there along side the RP5 and Odin 2 Portal.

Best Retro Handheald for most people
This is the faster model. Very customizable. Charges fast with the right hookup. Great ifEspecially if you like tinkering with software and know what you're doing.

Who is this for?
Speakers are just as bad as the rp5 despite retroid promising a fix a YEAR ago.Plastic feels 3d printed. The hinge feels like a problem waiting to happen.Other than that, it fixes some very obnoxious issues over the rp5, but for some reason decided to ruin it all with the single most unusable control layout possible.Even if I was willing to tolerate the 1990's tiger electronics handheld audio quality and the poor plastic (and the questionable battery life like the rp5 had) there is simply no comfortable way to use the buttons or d-pad on this device. Even worse, with the clamshell design there is no way to use thumbstick caps to extend their reach. If the device was left stick and buttons on top, it would be a definite upgrade over the rp5, but they did not do that.Even if the controls were usable, even if the plastic was high quality, there is no way this is worth $300 after sales tax, not even close. The device is so suspect that you have to register it with google as an "unsupported device" just to connect to the play store.Just like the rp5, android loves hanging up and freezing for no reason at all.
