Control Knob works great
Finally got around to wanting to just dial the bass in rather than going through 4 menus to increase or decrease my bass on my head unit. Bought this control knob because the knob that came with my amp must have been shorted out. When I realized this knob was available I figured this was the better option because I no longer have to run a new knob to the amp. Also this knob doesn't have any bright LED lights glaring off it. So now I can just simply turn it up or down. I have an 05 Tahoe that I had already cut a hole in the cubby for a USB wire. This knob wires fit perfectly and I could then mount the knob with some 15lb double sided mounting tape. It looks good.

Does the job ok
This is a line level control device. I use it as a remote volume control for a Pyle amp that is out of reach in my 2.0 setup. I just received it but here are a few of my initial thoughts.DESIGNIt's a little hard to tell from the pics the exact design of this item so I thought I would offer a fuller description here.Basically, it is a 1" x .5" box with a volume knob on the front that protrudes about .75" and then it has two 6" pigtails that come out the back-one for in and one for out. Each pigtail has female, stereo RCA jacks on it.Although not excessively well built this device does seem sturdy and it should hold up to some abuse for a time. Not sure how long it will last as much of it is plastic.OPERATIONIn order to make use of this line level controller one would plug male stereo RCA cables into its input and then connect its output to a receiver or amp. The controller then can adjust the volume going from the audio device into the amp. It is straightforward and simple to setup and took me no time at all to configure. This, however, is where my two caveats come in. First, the volume knob produces some dirty noises, especially towards the low end. There is audible static when you reach lower volumes and at one point the left channel goes out and then comes back in as you keep turning it down. This is not till the last eight of a turn of the knob, but still a little annoying. Also, this controller does not completely cut the volume when turned completely down. I was still able to hear audio come from my stereo even at its lowest setting. I was hoping to be able to completely shut off the audio with this device. Perhaps if you input device as turned way down. Say, for example, if you were using an iPod as your source and turns its volume 3/4 of the way down. Then you may be able to completely mute the volume with this controller, but you top end wouldn't be as loud. For these two reasons I have given this device four stars. It does what it says it will, but with a couple minor caveats.

Simple remote gain controller
Simple and gets the job done for amplifiers that don't have their own remote gain knob. Rotary dial is smooth and it did not affect sound quality.

Good value.
As a former car audio tech in the early 90's these devices were the go to for controlling subwoofer volume. Now I have this same device on my home subs. Instead of fumbling through menus on modern receivers, my modest two channel integrated amplifier with sub output and this volume control gets the job done. Adjust the xover where you want on the powered sub with a hot gain and you are set.The fun and satisfaction of turning an actual knob to crank up the bass cannot be beat!

Great for controlling line levels
This device some people call a bass knob which is okay because I do too. It's actually a line level controller which works similar to a base knob except you can add this to any aftermarket amplifier utilizing your RCAs coming from the back of your head unit. This controller has the line level input from the back of your stereo you plug that into the input then it has RCA left and right output you plug an RCA cable to the output side and the other side of those cables you plug into your amplifier. All it does is decreases or increases the frequency of output going to your amplifier kind of like a middleman that way if you have songs that have really strong bass You can turn the controller or knob down and vice versa similar to a bass knob except like I said earlier you can use it on any amplifier. I have an amplifier that has an actual bass knob and it started crackling because the knob was going bad after 3 years so I decided to purchase this with great reviews and great videos. I found this to be the best choice. I'll make a long story short. When I turn off my truck it is completely quiet as far as my sound system but when I turn it on or crank it up after a few seconds my head unit comes on and there is a strange thump in my subwoofer. When I had the bass knob hooked up even with the level all the way down it's still thumped. When using this line output controller/bass knob I turn it all the way down when I leave my truck and when I crank it back up I wait for the head unit to power up and then I have no thump whatsoever from my sub so this thing can actually cut the signal down completely instead of partially so there is very good control utilizing this knob controller. I would definitely recommend to anyone with any kind of aftermarket amplifier controlling a subwoofer to use one of these. They are relatively inexpensive and a good piece of equipment to have in your sound system.
