This was the solution to my problem....
We have a hot water circulation pump. It has an integral timer as well as an "on off" switch on the pump itself. It also happens to be at the extreme other end of the house from the showers. The timer on the unit is mechanical, so it never identified weekends from weekdays. Obviously, you want to have hot water available for showers at various times during the day or for doing laundry.I tried using a "remote switch" that worked on RF. No bueno. Half the time it would turn on but not off - leaving the pump to run overnight or even for days until someone discovered it was on. Not good for the plumbing, the electric bill (would cause the hot water heater to run for no reason), the hot water heater, or for "animated" discussions about whose fault it was that it was left on. The purpose of the exercise was to save electricity and wear an tear - not add to it.Enter the "smart plug".This device set up in a snap. You can program it to go on multiple times of the day, different programs for different days, or turn it on and off manually from anywhere via your smartphone. Not only that, but if you do turn it on manually, it will shut off when it returns to its normal programming - or you can set it up on a "countdown" timer so you don't even have to remember to shut it off (when you set it manually). The app is easy to use - even my techno-phobic spouse has now adapted to it. She's the one who always whined about the lack of hot water and now she has a solution at her fingertips. It "only" took us 2.5 years to come up with this solution. We're glad we did.

Extra steps to setup vs. other single outlet smart plugs.
Model: SOP04-US. It took a few tries to set these up—move closer to your router. Finish set up, then move devices into desired location and plug in appliances.Specs: IP44, AC 100-240V 50-60Hz, Max power 1875W (resistance loading), 15A, 125V, Working temp -20-60C (-4-140F), Android 4.1/IOS 8.0 or above. This device has 2 outlets, but 1 physical switch that operates both outlets together and is used for setup. Using the Smart-life app and a smart device like your cell phone you can turn the outlets on/off together or separately. They can be scheduled separately to turn on and off at set times, or turned on/off (change to the opposite of the current condition) after a countdown time (up to 23 hours and 59 minutes). They may be turned on/off by voice using Alexa devices—both together or separately. The catch is that you need to rename the device first and link it to Alexa. Then go back in to Smart-life and rename each Switch 1&2 to the actual devices they will control using the term you will use in your command. For example you would say: “Alexa, turn on the Master Bedroom” (the new device name) to work both outlets together. “Alexa, turn on the light” or “Alexa turn on the fan” to work an outlet separately. It is IMPORTANT that after every time you rename any part, you must re-link it with Alexa. The easiest way is to say “Alexa, discover devices”. There is a feature to assign these devices to Groups. But I guess they would be sub-groups to those you can already set up in Smartlife. I suppose it could be useful in some situations. No heat up with low wattage appliances. Flexible dual outlet cover—use either outlet leaving the other covered to keep out dirt/ants. Or remove and lose when using both outlets. 6” cord—just enough to turn the device outlets downward if the flat right-angle plug directs the cord upward.Just installing mine, so I can’t speak to real life use and longevity yet.

Pretty decent christmas light power saver
I really needed something to help with the Christmas lights during the holiday. I wanted something that would one give me control over switching the lights on and off as well as be a protective cover during the raining season. Now it hasn't really rained hard when I got this but it does do pretty well in the cold and the light drizzle. I will go into the setup. The app can be a little confusing and trying to get used to it could be a bit of a challenge. My recommendation is just to follow the instruction as closely as possible. It does work with alexa although it can be a bit buggy. For the setup I recommend setting this device up in the same room as your router before transporting it outside. I had a bit of an issue getting it to connect outside. The app allowed me to control the lights even when I am not at home which is really nice so I can turn the lights on and off. The brink does have a place you can nail to the wall if you wish it not to move but I like being able to remove it after the holidays. The connection works pretty well from what I can see but it is dependent on the amount of walls and routers so be aware of that when trying to find a placement. Overall it is a great device and a huge power saver.

Great as long as it is working.
Update:Acenx contacted me and replaced my broken outlet for me. I really like the integration with the Smart Life app which is why i went with it in the first place. i have upgraded back to 4 Stars because while it is working, it is great, and the customer service from Acenx was great as well.Original:Worked excellent for just over 2 months. The two outlets can be rand independently of one another which was a huuuuuge plus. unfortunately, it died after just over two months and the Wifi no longer connects. Smart life simply says device offline. I went out and unplugged it and plugged it back in to which it worked for a day then went back to device offline. Now it no longer connects to WIFI and i tried resetting it and re-enabling to in smart life app and it simply will not connect now. i am assuming the WIFI receiver went dead.
