Extremely pleased with this NVR
Extremely pleased with this NVR. I've bought this to replace an older one. This new version of NVR box works great as a replacement NVR and worked with my 4 year old cameras and the latest 1080p cameras with no issue at all. Very user friendly and works great! This system offers great pictures, has a very good night vision, and it is simple/easy to install and operate. Installing the DVR was simple plug and play. Just had to connect the power cord, a single Ethernet cable from the router and you’re done. The system's firmware can be updated very easily. As for customer service and communication, there may not be any other company that could do a better job than Xmarto. They are just excellent! You send them an email and they will respond within a very short period of time. They will do work with you to make sure your question has been answered and your issue has been resolved.

Terrible
This entire company is a joke. First they sent me the wrong NVR that was packaged in the box of the correct NVR. So I had to wait until the correct one arrived before setting up. I purchased 4 sets of the solar cameras with nvr. 2 sets of 4 cameras, 1 set of 8, and another set of 8 with 2 added cameras. The cameras have very limited range on the motion sensors especially at night. You can get within 15ft of them and the camera won't start recording or anything. The siren alarm is very quiet and unless you're near the camera itself you'll never hear it. The cameras go to sleep far too quickly after waking up so any video you get will be cut off before you see much of anything happening. They don't have anywhere near the range that they advertise as I have one camera less than 22m from my NVR and it shows minimal signal and won't stream an image at all. The path between the nvr and camera has just a single pane window between them and no other obstructions. There's literally no reason it should have this much trouble getting a signal. After my issues I sent three separate service requests to Xmartos website and although they claim to respond in 24 hours it took me writing to them a 4th time 3 days later before getting a response. Also DO NOT BUY THE RANGE EXTENDER if you do have the solar cameras. Despite all of their documentation claiming that it works for all of their cameras, I find out that it doesn't work with their battery powered cameras which makes zero sense. I was only informed that they were incompatible after buying 3 based on the claims in their documentation. All in all one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any electronic product. Customer support is terrible, product quality is severely lacking and I'm considering hiring an attorney to pursue this because I'm out several thousands of dollars and they can't be bothered to try to help me at all. If you need wireless cameras go with literally anything else this whole company is a joke.

Good replace unit
Although I have to hardwire my existing cameras for the setup process. But other than that, they all worked and were recognized right away

Mixed opinion here but some aspects are very attractive. Questionable support.
Lacks detailed and meaningful instructions. But if you poke around you'll find an easy to use NVR with decent wireless options and very easy to use UI. The user interface is a vast improvement over older versions found on competitive NVRs - most that used to also support ONVIF. This NVR accepts several ONVIF & N1 protocol cameras that I have, but as another reviewer mentions, manually adding a camera it doesn't recognize is not possible and Xmarto offers no support. An obvious issue: no way to edit username of camera - if camera you want to add has a username other than the default the Xmarto NVR is expecting...tough luck as it cannot done. Otherwise, UI has many features for customization of wireless bands (both between home network, if not using netwrok cable and 14 wifi channels available for the encrypted wifi between cameras and NVR. Note that interference from neighboring wifi signals in congested areas will effect wifi communication. 4 stars for NVR and 1 star for documentation and support.

Newer NVR lacks features of Previous versions
The only reason I purchased this NVR is to be able to use the newer PTZ cameras with it. The PTZ cam which tied with the older version sucked! However the newer bullet type ptz cam is better. But beware, do not buy a camera or NVR unless the antennas are upgradable. All companies I have found sell their cams and NVR with 2 to 2.5ghz antenna, and you actually need to use 9ghz antenna for the system to work better. But you have to upgrade not only your cams, but NVR also. Anyway getting back to this NVR, what irritates me is that the playback is only 8x speed, and it does that but skipping seconds, thus you run the risk of losing an image. I have 4 NVRs and the older 3 playback at 32x speed which truly speeds the video as you can see the time flying by with out the seconds and minutes skipping time. Why did they do that? plus THERE IS NO MANUAL RECORD! Only Time Motion and Alarm. Yeah I know, just set the time for 24hrs, but that doesn’t work for me if I only want to record something manually that is in my view now! I don’t want to have to remember the time, plus back up an entire hour just to replay 3 minutes of video. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Xmarto products, but why did they take away features that made the system better? I record right now 10 cameras on 2 different NVRs, an old one and this piece of poo new one. But all the other NVRs have their antennas hard wired to their box. So I’m stuck. Good luck to you all.

A lot of capability for an unexpectedly low price
I was just browsing around security cameras and DVR/NVR's and found this xmartO NVR at an unexpectedly low price. I decided to purchase it along with one of their wifi cameras to test and was very pleased at how easy it was to pair the camera. Then I took the camera out into my back yard with a long power extension cord and had no problems communicating with it. I relocated the camera to the 3 other sides of the house, and still had great reception. That convinced me to get 3 more cameras and I've recently installed them and am very pleased. Tech support is via email, and has been very responsive to the questions I've asked.
