Boring, repetitive and way too verbose
I have a hard time actually enjoying this book. Most paragraphs are way too long, boring and repetitive, using too much uninteresting information, impersonal and lacking engagement, not straight to the point. This was supposed to be a condensed version of the AWS official documentation, for the infrastructure AWS services. But it kind of uses the same verbose and somehow self-promoting language like Amazon's. I did not find the book well structured, and many architectural diagrams look rather cluttered.I think the author simply misses the point and does a poor job by transmitting complex technical information in a (much) better way. This is what good technical books do. And, unfortunately, this is not one of those...

Completely impractical
Subtitle of the book is "A hands-on guide", but there is absolutely nothing hands on about it. It is a bunch of wordy explanations of cloud concepts, with no integrated hands on training. Useless this is not how you learn computing concepts you learn by doing. In the middle of Chapter 2 I had a growing sense of dread that the book was going to be useless, I started looking ahead and indeed the entire book is the same way: hundreds of pages of words with no serious practical examples baked in.
