My dog was drinking a lot more water and seemed to be very hungry for the last couple months. Even though he seemed healthy otherwise, I wanted to make sure he didn't have diabetes. I used these test strips on a first morning pee sample and they were negative for glucose and ketones. I still took my dog to the Vet to make sure there wasn't something else going on, and he confirmed (after exam, blood, and urine tests) that he was just in a new normal for appetite and drinking water.I do not recommend these strips as a substitute for Vet care. If you have a diabetic dog, these can help in checking for blood sugar control. Anything other than a first morning specimen may be too diluted to keep this test accurate. Use a leash to guide your dog to a spot where you can collect the mid-stream specimen with a telescoping collection device.

I bought these to use with Kit4Kat (litter that urine pools on) to test my diabetic cat for glucose and ketones, 2 major testing requirements for that disease. I also have the 10 panel test strips that tests various other issues. I liked these because of the 2 panel vs. 10 panel. Before using this approach, I checked with my vet to make sure this would be an alternative way to stay proactive.

My diabetic senior dog always shows up negative on both ketone and glucose test strips with this kit, and while she is negative ketones at the vet, her glucose is off-the-charts high.

Just what I wanted

We have a diabetic cat. Ketones and glucose testing is imperative on a daily/weekly basis and accuracy critical. Suspicious when these strips gave same result every test. Vet test confirmed the inaccuracy.
