Excellent product. I address the negative reviews. Read on..
I looked through the 1 star reviews after buying, installing and using several of these switches. I'm not affiliated with Amazon OR the company that sells these. I just hate seeing folks mislead by people who incorrectly install, don't know HOW to install, cause the item to fail by installing it incorrectly or just wanna whine about it being small or the screws being small to hold the wire. Let's take it step by step so maybe this will help some of you.Complaint: The switch IS small.Response: Yes it is. That's the whole point. Make a small switch that is easy to install, works great, and is a good value for the money.Complaint: "The screws are too small and you can't wrap the wire around them"Response: You've obviously been out of the electical industry for a while. The screws are not meant to have the wires wrapped around them. The screws are set into a clamping box that you insert the wire into. The screw then tightens down on the wire. Therefore you can use up to a 1/4" lamp cord to install it on. That doesn't mean a smaller wire won't work. It will because the screw tightens down ONTO the wire just like most good quality electrical outlets and circuit breakers in your electrical panel do. It's a proven system and a good one.Complaint: "I installed the wire into the switch and it blew up/caught fire/burned up".Response: Installing wire will usually require the stripping of insulation. If you incorrectly cut off too much insulation, you leave exposed wires in close proximity to eash other which can cause overheating/shorts/and even fire or total failure of the switch. You should not have exposed wire outside of the wire screw box.Complaint: "I installed the wires and screwed them down but they are so tiny they keep flopping around"Response: There is a strain relief inside the switch that will clamp the wires down holding them in place, if you install it correctly(as it comes from the factory)Complaint: "The switch is hard to click on and off".Response: Yes, it's rugged and built to last many cycles of switching. The main takeaway is this: electricity and electric devices (even lamps) are not something to play around with. If you don't know how to proficiently install something that deals with electricity, please get someone to do it who knows what they're doing. Don't do it incorrectly and then blame a perfectly good product. You could hurt yourself or even cause a fire. Safety first!I hope this helps. BTW, I tried two of these and liked them so well I bought 8 more!!

Works perfect and is very quiet.
I have a salt lamp that we use as a type of nightlight. My wife goes to bed before I do, so she leaves the salt lamp on for me so I don't walk into a completely dark bedroom. The switch that came with the saltlamp is the dial type that makes a very loud "click" when you switch it off, which disturbed her sleep when i turned it off. This rocker switch is SO much quieter and a super easy process to replace. The Liv vs neutral connections were clearly marked. I appreciate that the wires don't go around a screw and are compressed with set screws. It operates perfectly. Highly recommend.

More secure
We had a cheap lamp with a rotating dial in off switch. after a year suddenly the lamp stopped working. After the usual bulb change and what not it was discovered that the little prongs that poke into the wire were no longer making a connection. Turns out the dial post broke and the whole thing came apart. Well this is Nothing like that. This switch requires you to strip the wire and insert it into a screw down clamp. it holds so secure and is actually easier to use. The switch works perfect and is well built and holds securely. Do note that you will need a set of wire strippers and a Phillips head screwdriver. This switch is worth the little extra effort it takes to install as the quality is far superior.

Great direct replacement!
I have smart led bulbs and the new lamp I bought had an inline dimmer as the switch on the cord. The dimmer was causing the smart bulb to flicker no matter what setting I tried so it had to go.I didn't want to just splice the wires together as there is no other switch on the lamp and... Yeah, that's not the right way to do things. This was definitely the best option. The wires were connected exactly like in this switch so all I needed were a few small philips screwdrivers. Took maybe 5 minutes to swap out. Tested and it worked the first try. Seems to hold the wires securely. Easy to service if necessary.Best of all, no flickering! Not sure why I can't just buy a single switch. Now I have an extra floating around. There are no instructions, so here are my tips for success:1. Disconnect the old switch if there is one.2. Make sure 1/8" of bare wire is exposed and the wires are split by 1/2"3. Open the switch with the 2 philips screws and pull the two halves apart.4. Remove the white plastic wire clips on either end with 2 mini philips screws each. Loosen the 4 clamping screws but you don't need to fully remove them.5. Insert the wires into the terminals making sure they are oriented the same way to preserve polarity. The hot wire is the smaller of the two plug blades. Best practice is to connect the wires in the terminals so that the hot wire is the one switched. Luckily this switch cuts both hot and neutral so this isn't a concern.6. Screw down clamping screws in the terminals snugly so that the wires don't come loose with moderate force.7. Reattach the wire clamps on either side of the switch.8. Close the switch assembly and replace the 2 screws.

Works but...
These switches work Perfectly, but they are very hard to install.Very tiny screws; very tiny holes for the wires. However, once you Finally get them wired, they work perfectly.
