Improperly assembled bypass valve?
The item seems to be of much higher quality brass rather than the junk plastic valve it replace.HOWEVER!. Upon installation, we put the water lines from the hot water heater back on in exactly the same orientation as they were removed from on the “normal” and “bypass “ valve. The lines connect from the top and side. The two lines cannot be installed incorrectly. However, in order to have hot water in the RV, the selector has to be in the bypass position. There is no indication of this difference, at least not that I noticed. Tomorrow I will see if it’s possible to switch the two lines without having to remove the PEX fittings. If I can’t switch the, I guess I’ll just relabel the selector from bypass and call that normal and vice versa.

Well made but no instructions
The item itself is good and well made and easy to install. It came with no instructions and the back side is not labeled. I had to swap connections around until I found out what worked. After using it for a while now my only complaint is each setting doesn't have a detent to click in, so you have to fish around to find the exact location for the setting.
