Avoid- known coaster malfunction- no support in UAE
Product update- 6 monthsI have downgraded by two stars, you see , the Ember mug has an known issue with its charging coaster- one of the pins almost invariably seems to malfunction- this renders the mug useless.I contacted ember support and once they found I was not in the US, they washed their hands off their product. I even offered to pay for shipping, but they wouldn’t budge . I do not see why.So, if you buy this, you may well be stuck with an ordinary metal mug after a few months- so, buyer, beware!I bought the mug as I thought it would be invaluable on those cold wintry mornings - no more having to microwave the dregs of the coffee I drunk, but then I found otherwiseI bought it because of the great reviews and mainly because I’m always a sucker for a new gadget !I drink aeropress and espresso mainly, and teaI find that when it’s espresso, I just don’t nurse it, it’s down, fast! I don’t need the ember thenWhen it’s aeropress, I prefer it hot- and that’s 150F, the ember keeps it at 145 and prefers to keep it at 135I find I drink my coffee far to quickly for the ember to make a differenceAbout the mug1. It feels a little like ceramic, but the wall is too thin for my tastes- I prefer a nice thick mug2. The handle is - likewise- thin, perfectly serviceable, mind you, but I really like a thick handle3. It isn’t hot enough- they sell you the perfect temperature, but unless you like your coffee like warm at 135, this isn’t what they are thinking of4. Battery life- 90 mins is just fine, like I said, my aeropress is down in ten minutes5. The app needs work- for example- for some reason they kept the next page on a swipe down menu with an arrow to guide morons like yours truly, but when I do this , I find the whole app tends to disappear, a side swipe would have been far more intuitive, anyway, I don’t like the app- it should have been far more user friendly6. A widget is something you need here tooAll in all, I suggest waiting for Ember 3 or just using a thick mug, unless you have money to burn

It exploded and almost set a fire to my brothers house while he and his family were sleeping
Ember temperature controlled mug almost killed my son and his family. The battery exploded and started a fire. If not for the family dog waking everyone up who knows what could have happened. Do not buy this product it is extremely dangerous.
