Highly informative and very well written
This is an excellent book. Highly recommended. Engaging, clear and friendly text. Very hands off, it really is like a guide in that the author just steers you in the right direction, and encourages you to find things out for yourself. If, like me, you don't do "linear learning" and like to jump about a bit and try different things .. to break stuff and put it back together again, then this is for you. By the end you'll have a decent grasp of the topic and will be ready to learn some more. Very good book! Very good indeed.

Very comprehensive so far
The book is well structured and easy to follow. Note: I have a lot of programming experience and this gives a definite edge if you have similar experience. It covers the directories and files found in a typical website and has a lot of useful snippets (HTML) as examples and for use in the exercises. After about 20 hours I’ve created a basic, functioning website and there is still much to learn from this book. Well worth the money. NB: invest in a decent HTML editor (I use BB Edit, about £40 a year for the licence). Do not rely on a simple text editor. You can use a text editor to create files but it’s a lot of work and provides no useful tools.

deceitful and disjointed
To use the content of the book you will need to sign-up to an external service, making the content of the book unusable by itself - that is, this isn't a book that does what it says it doesThe structure of the book is very disjointed with related information distributed thinly across multiple chapters. If you are making notes you will be constantly re-organising them and going back to add new information to earlier notes. It is very frustrating.
