Keep those papers from flying all over the place.
I learned about these babies when I was temping for a law firm many many years ago. I've never looked back.PRO TIP: Get yourself a two-hole punch and punch the top edge of a folder, then feed these fasteners through the holes so the "arms" are pointing inside and the thick middle part is on the outside of the folder. (If you stick the adhesive to the inside, it will eventually tear away.) You can take it from there.Okay, that's my tip of the day. Happy filing!

These work great.
I bought these fasteners with the folders separately as well as a 2-hole puncher and it was alll cheaper than buying the folders pre-fastened at any office supply store. So easy to use and works awesome

How I’ve used these for nose pieces...
The media could not be loaded. When nosepieces for face masks were a scarcity and out of stock...Got the idea From a YouTuber to use these as nosepieces. They worked great, and are preferred by some face mask wearers because they are such strong metal and hold the shape so much better.

Was Once A Money-Saver - NOT ANYMORE
**Original Review** > The only think I would change about these is to make the adhesive stronger... they have a tendency (at times), to come away from the folder. I often use tape to bolster them when I am putting the folders together, just for added security. But these fasteners help with the costs of office supplies, because when you get them pre-made, they cost three times as much. It only takes a few minutes to put a folder together with these. It DOES take a bit of practice to get them centered correctly, so that the pages enclosed in the file don't get folded over and such, but once you get the hang of it (after one or two, it's easy) you're saving money and they are every bit as useful as the ones that come with the fasteners already installed. I think they are worth the few minutes it takes to put them together.***UPDATE 12.13.18*** > I have been using these for about four years and I have always been fairly happy with them...until recently. ACCO has apparently begun to cut corners on this once-practical device. Now, the aluminum they are using is so flimsy, that after just a few open/close actions, the prongs are snapping off, leaving behind a very sharp piece of metal and unsupported documents inside the folder. ACCO is now producing pure CRAP where this item is concerned.I have subsequently switched to SMEAD fasteners, with superior adhesive strips and outstanding flexible prongs to hold your documents secure. I can no longer recommend using the ACCO version of this product. For just a couple of dollars more, SMEAD makes a far superior product and you STILL save money over the folders that come with the fasteners already inside.***FOR EASE OF ALIGNMENT, SIMPLY TAKE YOUR DOCUMENT WITH THE HOLES PRE-CUT, LINE THE DOCUMENT UP INSIDE THE OPEN FOLDER WHERE YOU KNOW IT WON'T CAUSE DAMAGE ONCE THE FOLDER IS CLOSED, AND JUST USE A PEN OR PENCIL TO MARK THE SPOT INSIDE EACH OF THE HOLES. REMOVE THE ADHESIVE STRIP AND LINE UP THE FASTENER WITH THE HOLES FOR AN ERROR-FREE INSTALLATION. Great for face masks!
I used these for making face masks, I actually cut them (they cut very easily) and get 4 masks from one. It’s not necessary to use a whole one when all you need is a small strip to shape the nose. These are perfect!

A great way to save money!
I was previously buying the file folders with these fasteners already included. However, with the ACCO self-adhesive fasteners, I am able to use plain file folders, and then attach the fastener wherever I need to. There is a guide printed on the box that helps in the lining up of the fastener, which makes the process very easy! Overall, the cost of fasteners and plain file folders is a lot less expensive than the cost of file folders with fasteners already included.

Work Well
Works well for both the intended use and also as a material to use as a nose bridge on fabric masks. The adhesive works well and the thicker center part is easily cut with household scissors to fit a mask.

Decent for files, but watch out for your fingertips!
These fasteners definitely stick well when you place them! I tried to peel one off when I stuck it on wrong and ended up having to trash the folder because it was tearing the paper off. I don't know how the adhesive will last over time, but it is VERY strong in the beginning. That is a plus for the product. The reason I gave it only three stars is because these cut my fingers like crazy! For the first few weeks I was converting old client folders over to use these I kept noticing all these small cuts on my finger pads that would catch on things. After I realized it was because of these I had to adjust how I used them to only push straight down and have absolutely no sideways movement. That put a stop to most of the cuts. I decided to order the premium version this time because the reviews say they don't leave cuts.I live in Missouri, so I'm not sure about the rusting and humidity issues. If I see any signs showing up in our files I will leave an update to this review.
