Versatile, Ingenious Little Gadget; Extra Setup Steps With SmartThings
This button controller makes a versatile addition to your smart home setup, offering a range of customization options for seamless control of your devices. While the initial setup with a SmartThings hub may require a bit of effort, it's well worth the time.I recommend installing the required driver from Minoston's website BEFORE attempting to pair the controller with your hub. Instructions on the packaging direct you to their website. Once there, head to the "Support" section where you'll find "Edge Driver for SmartThings" at the bottom of the page. Following the steps provided will ensure a smooth installation process. (Logging into your hub is necessary to complete the driver installation.)Once set up, this handy little controller proves its worth. The ability to assign multiple functions to each of the four buttons transforms it into a kind of universal remote for your smart devices. The magnetic feature adds a practical touch, and the option to mount it on a wall plate, either alone or alongside other switches, enhances its versatility. All necessary hardware for wall mounting is conveniently included.Performance is commendable, and I've noticed minimal delay between button presses and programmed actions. This controller feels responsive and snappy in operation. Overall, I'm pleased with this little gadget, and I appreciate Minoston's decision to offer a somewhat niche product that proves to be super useful in the smart home landscape.

Much better than others
When I ordered these controllers, I was sceptical about what I would receive. I have tried many other controllers and they have either been very cheaply made, incompatible with SmartThings, difficult to pair or work with ST and limited in function. This controller is none of that. They are solidly built, compact and multifunctional in design. You can mount them like a regular switch, alone or in an electrical box. You can use it as a remote and have it with you, wherever you are. The magnetic base holds it solidly in place when on the wall. The controller is solidly built and doesn't feel flimsy. Button presses are firm and don't leave you guessing if it pressed or not.Pairing was easy and simple. I had 3 of them completely programmed in less than 3 minutes each. The first one required an applet addition to my ST account but the download and installation instructions were clear, concise and complete and left no room for question or error. That took an extra 2 or three minutes to set up the first one.Pairing & programming was easy and straightforward. I have used these everyday for the past week and they have performed flawlessly with great distance reception wherever I am on the property.I ordered 4 to begin with and will be ordering more in the future. The only complaint that I have is that it took 2 weeks for them to arrive.

Works like a charm with HomeSeer 4
Including in HomeSeer 4 worked on the first try.It will add the device, a battery device and a scene controller. With the scenes it is very easy to setup the functions you want the remote (or your home automation) to do.We use it as a remote in the living room and not wall mounted. The remote responds very quickly and so far flawless. You can configure for each button1 press2 press and hold3 double press4 3 presses5 releasedSo 4 “scenes” for each button plus the release. That makes it 16 different scenarios you can program.I did change the wake up from 12 hours to once daily. That’s enough for battery status and should help with conserving battery.Speaking of battery, the device uses two batteries. For some reason I thought it uses one. Not a big deal I just mention it here.It looks like you can even program the color and the brightness of the led when the button is pushed. Not testet and not sure why I would like to change this. The battery status when to report low battery seems also to be adjustable but I didn’t test it yet.So, I will update the review should the batteries die on me early. I hope I get a few month of use out of it.So far so good. I will keep this company on mind when I buy more zwave items.I really like it a lot and perhaps buy one more to wall mount it where I would like a switch but have no wiring. Like on the night stand, it doesn’t have to be a wall.

Worked well with SmartThings
It's pretty good. The instructions for getting it set up with SmartThings worked as intended and the device was reclassified correctly to a scene controller. Each button is programmable separately in 4 ways. Single Press/ Double Press/ Hold/ Triple Press. In addition, you can also program the different actions regardless of which specific button was pressed. The only thing I didn't like was that the size of the remote. I feel like it's too small, and I wish they provided a secure way to keep it on a coffee table or something like that as I don't plan to mount it on the wall.
