Have been using this for about half a year now. I don't ever take out my lxt charger anymore. Highly recommend if you have 40v and 18 makita.

Makita 18v to 40v charger adapter
At first I was fighting with the adapter not wanting to slide into the charger but after wiggling it and pushing it hard, it finally went in. Now it just slides into the charger with no issues. And yes, it’s great I can charge both 40v and a18v batteries with the 40v charger.
