These do not work and are a waste of time and money.
I Bought two of these units as I have a number of foxes that frequent my garden, digging up the plants and veg, also fouling the lawns and paths. I placed the units following the instructions where the foxes congregate. I verified that they were working (the LED lit when you approach the units) The foxes took absolutely no notice of them and were seen sitting by the units preening themselves. Not one of them was spooked taking any notice, even the neighbours cat was seen sitting about a metre away from one of the units, apparently oblivious to it. So. I can only surmise that these are totally ineffective and have been returned for a refund. One not working - maybe, but both ?

Worked for me!
I’ve seen some very mixed reviews on this product, but as far as I’m concerned, it worked for me, or at least I think it did. I was having trouble with one specific fox that was visiting my garden every night and destroying the floating water pumps on my outdoor fish pond. The pumps were repaired or replaced, but the destruction persisted continuously. In the end, I turned to these two sonic repellants. They were very easy to set up, although annoyingly didn’t come with batteries. Once ready, I set them up facing towards my pond from either side. I’m fairly certain the fox is still about as I’ve heard distant fox howls in the neighbourhood, but my pumps have not been touched since. Please note, this worked on a single fox in an urban area. If it was a rural area and there were more than one foxes, it may not have worked so well. To the human ear, the sound these repellants make are a slight ‘popping’ noise. I’m satisfied with my purchase.

They work! But moving grass sets them off.
These work on foxes and cats. I have bought both types and I think these are the best due to the randomness of them which stops animals getting used to them. I had cats mess from a neighbourhood cat as well as my own in the garden and these sorted it out. The only problem was that our cat enjoyed the garden and although I was only protecting one part of it, our cat was reticent about using any of it as the unit would go off with just the wind moving the grass in front of it, scaring the cat no matter where in the garden she was. I have had to switch it off for now and reactivate it if she starts using that area as a toilet again. The other one is down the side of the house where a neighbours cat did his business, but that has stopped too (and I am keeping that one on permanently). Why can't they work by body heat instead of movement? So one star lost for that. Overall very effective.

Seems to work on young fox's
Seems to work on young fox's but not adults. Young foxes. definitely don't like the sound, once triggered they run off in the opposite direction. But older foxes and I watched one trigger it and it just sat there within feet 8 feet and decided to have a scratch. So only part successful.

Doesn't seem to deter foxes much
I've found that these don't seem to deter foxes that much. Not sure if this is because urban foxes just don't get affected by the noise this produces or that the product's main philosophy doesn't work, either way the foxes seem to either just stop briefly before continuing or just plain walking up to and even over them. When combined with the flashing eyes there is a little more deterance but the foxes still aren't affected enough to scare them away.

Impossible to secure in the ground
The sensor seemed to work for the first couple of days, but as the stick they come on is impossible to plant into the ground, there was no way to secure them. I tried to nestle them in some bushes, but the foxes quickly caught on and both the sensors I bought went missing as the foxes made off with them. No idea where they are now, but they're certainly not doing the job they were meant to as it's impossible to actually secure them - all could have been avoided if the stick was designed in a way so as to actually stay where I wanted it to. Badly designed. Total waste of money.
