A Simple and Powerful Teaching for growing and new Christians
Brother Yun has an amazing testimony. I wanted to glean more from his life and testimony, so I bought this book. The wonderful thing about his teachings is that he keeps it in the simplicity of the Gospel. there is no over the top explanations and nothing too deep and overly spiritual. this is a simple well grounded set of teachings to help and refresh new or growing believers. Though I would not say I'm miles into my walk with the Lord, I will say that I find even the things I have learned in the past that he spoke of to be refreshing reminders in my life. Grateful for the Lord and how he has used simple things to teach and not high minded knowledge.

Finding GOD above all else....
But first be concerned about God's kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well. Matthew 6:33 NIVBrother Yun has a very powerful testimony for any believer who needs to experience a "flesh and bones" life story of what it takes to find God when you are desperate and in need of a miracle!! This audiobook also gives very good detail about the stark contrast in living as a Christian in China and the ways that Western believers have as yet to encounter in the power of GOD without intrinsic and necessary persecution. The reader should be reminded, as it is written in 2 Timothy 3:12 NIV, "In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,"This can help Western believers tremendously to begin to prepare for what The Word unequivocally states WILL happen even in the western diaspora. Brother Yun demonstrates first and foremost a commitment to prayer (and fasting) in order to grow more mature in faith as well as to seek The LORD's will for direction.Powerful, electrifying, and a lightning rod for The Holy Spirit's work in a fully surrendered brother-in-Christ! I am looking forward to meeting Brother Yun one day and thanking him for his obedience and deep love for Jesus and His church...if not on this side, then most assuredly when I get "home"!"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His Holy Name"....(Psalm 103:1 KJ 2000) and the "Living Water" that he has provided for us "modern-day" disciples.

Surrendering fully no matter the cost.
Eye-opening book. Great for anyone thinking of fully surrendering their life and following Jesus. May be hard for some people to accept some of the subjects he talks about. Shows how far Christianity in some parts of the world has gotten away from the Truth and Walk that Jesus has intended. A bit intimidating and challenging for me as someone used to going to churches in the West. Many with no emphasis on the Holy Spirit. But I have been questioning modern Christianity for a while. I am tired of going around the same old mountains. I am tired of not living in victory no more than an unbeliever. Why do we not see healing and miracles and the work of the Holy Spirit in peoples lives like the early church? The Way has never about prosperity and being as comfortable as we can. The Holy Spirit was sent to empower us to lead others to Christ. To give us strength and wisdom to do that. A book that challenges us to pick up our cross and fully surrender irregardless of the cost and suffering. Crossroads book of going fully in or staying held back. A book that encourages us to draw closer to Jesus and experience the power of the Holy Spirit and His peace and joy even despite suffering. Brother Yun's story is incredible.

Simple Straightforward medicine for the Western church
First, you need to have read Heavenly Man before this. That will give Bro Yun the credibility with you to say this frank word. This book is not very well written, but the exhortation to the western church is the medicine we need. After listening to this book, I bought the Kindle format so I can highlight what Yun says, and remember it and share specifics. The first 5 chapters, I thought, were not much, and the reader during these chapters tries to overdo the emotion. (Maybe it was that I was in the wrong frame of mind for these.) From chapter 6 onward, the book gets better and better, practical, honest, and does not pull punches. The last section, Part 3 on being a soldier, was the best.Brother Yun’s simplicity in following the Lord and speaking the truth reminds me of the early days of Witness Lee’s ministry in the U.S. Brother Yun has the same burden for the functioning and oneness of all the members of the body of Christ without falling into any kind of esoteric teaching.

Astounding, meeky delivered power!!
When I read Heavenly Man recently, I was astounded to learn that such a move of God was underway anywhere in the world. I was convicted of merely dabbling at being Christian. No other book had challenged me and changed me that way, until this work. Can I call it a sequel? While Heavenly Man was a life shaking and powerful testimony, this work forced me to put it down repeatedly and come to grips with what I was reading. I've heard various ministers refer to themselves as Apostles but the claim always rang hollow. Here in the book Living Water there is a pastoral letter that was delivered in meekness but also with uncommon power and authority. As I read, I was astounded to realize that Apostolic ministry is something that God still gives the church.I've purchased multiple copies of each book to give to various friends who in turn, have named other people that they wanted to receive them also.Read Heavenly Man first to get an idea what the normal Christian Life can and should be. Read Living Water to have the Bible exhort you to an ever closer walk. As another reviewer aptly said:"You'll start reading it on your sofa, you'll finish it your knees.'
