clean dado cuts
This are the best dado set I've ever had. First they lock together for smooth accurate operation and they are extremely sharp. I make drawers with 1/2" BB and cut a dado for the bottom. Clean smooth cuts, no tear out, even against the grain. I'll let you know if they ever get dull.

Great product.
So far so good. Great cut. Seems like a really nice and safe dado stack. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality tool.

Clean edged, flat bottomed cuts
I bought this to replace my older stacked dado set because it was not suitable for my new SawStop table saw; The old one had full size chippers which made it very massive. SawStop tech support informed me that with that much rotating mass, if the brake activated on the saw, there was a good chance that the arbor would actually bend from the rotating torque. This set weighs less than the SawStop branded Dado stack, (which retails for quite a bit more), so it should be okay. The locking mechanism is unique and kind of cool once you get used to it. It only took me two tries to " dial in " the right width for my application. Very nice. The only complaint I have is that the shims are not labeled for thickness; easy enough to remedy with a sharpie and a micrometer.

Quality Blade!!
The way these lock together perfectly aligns the cutters for smooth operation. Comes with a handy chart to show you which shims to use for desired thickness of dado. Cuts well, aligns easily. Recommend!

dado cut is exact, lock feature is ingenious
5 stars for the CMT dado locked set for coming up with an ingenious way of locking down the blades for better safety. 0 stars for the micro adjusters that are not labeled. Other users would indicate they seem to have problems using. I cannot say I’ve had any issues but I am also new into using this dado set. My first cut and using the micro shims I did not have any issues. I do wonder why only 2 magnetic shims? Why not make all of them magnetic.Woodline who is the seller I purchased these from has been great at answering all my questions on use and sharpening. They had a quick 1-day turn around for all my questions. One question I had was purchasing replacement lock spacers and at this time they are not offered as per the manufacturer. My previous set (not CMT) was my only dado set experience. Though it was deemed as a good set I never achieved flat bottom and had too much after-chisel work to clean up what the dado should have done. That set (Oshlun) was also a 6” and like all sets that need to have staggered teeth when stacking, that set never stayed in place when tightening the arbor nut.The beauty in the CMT locked dado set is just that - it locks.I did some test set ups before actually cutting to see the accuracy of their size chart. This set has 3 (1/8) chippers when other sets stagger their size from any number of 1/32, 1/16, and 1/8. I believe due to the lock spacers taking up “space”, the CMT engineers came up with widths for the main outer blades, chippers, lock spacers and micro shims to achieve all the min to max cuts. I am impressed with this technique. It’s much easier to use what ever number of 1/8 chippers than combinations of different chipper sizes and hope it comes out right. My other dado set was like this and I found their chart wasn’t exact to the cut I needed. My first cut was a 7/16 and it was exactly 7/16. I had no tear out other than the exit that I forgot to tape and would have helped but was still minimal. The photos of the entry cut were so smooth I did not have to do any sanding. I finished the dado cuts on one last piece of my f-clamp holder in less time than it took to dado one piece using my other set up. The other pieces had already been done using my Oshlun dado set and my regular blade since the dado was limited in getting the right cut.I am very pleased with this set so far. There is no way to mess up the set up. Read the instructions a few times to make sure it’s understood how to connect each blade and there should be no issues.
