Like all my other x sense kit, this is easy to install and integrates well with the App. The price is amazing and this smoke alarm is compact and ideal for my log cabin. I get a good connection and overall I am very pleased with the quality of this kit.

Cannot really over emphasise who good and reassuring these smoke detection units are. Like most 'wifi' enabled equipment its all based around the mobile phone App. Once downloaded the install of the smoke alarms is very straightforward following the instructions supplied. Fitting them again is simple & straight forward . The alarm sounder itself is definitely noticeable should they go off . As they are, they work as standalone smoke detectors however it is possible to link them so if one goes off they all go off with the purchase of another piece of kit , but all that is explained with the instructions etc. The real key and important benefit is you can locate these alarms in different physical locations other than within your own house and still have full functionality & visibility via the App. I have purchased now 3 sets of these alarms to cover my house and I have also fitted these into my elderly mothers house and already these alarms have proved there worth. Even though in a completely different location I have full visibility and get immediate alerts should the alarm be activated. You also have the ability via the App to instantly deactivate the alarm sound . Having had wireless App driven security cameras and security alarms for a long time now its great to have complete peace of mind now with these smoke detectors for both for myself and family members is really reassuring. Highly recommended and great value for money & peace of mind.

Units are small, modern looking and neat, much smaller footprint than traditional detectors, although deeper so they do sit down from ceiling a little more. Setting up in general is easy, but you MUST have a 2.4Ghz wifi only band for these to connect and register. If you don’t have this or aren’t able to set one up (eg as a second WiFi), then it may not work for you. I’ve not tried disabling 5GHz and registering and then switching it back on after, some people say this works. Per other reviews it’s important to note the detector itself has a 10 year life (like many) but the battery life is only 1 year. (CR123 lithium battery), so you will need to replace it each year, not 10. Once set up any test on the detector button sends an alert to the app, as does any trigger or low battery warning etc. you can’t remote test them sadly but the app does show the battery status.with the app you set up rooms/areas in house and then add sensors to that area, it’s not immediately obvious. I’ve not had a chance to test the smoke sensitivity. Watch placement of smoke detectors to avoid “air dead zones”, the little manual does explain this.

Very easy to fit in place.Mounted it on the landing ceiling at the top of the stairs.Very small with a piercing alarm.Replace date marked as 2034 so the full 10 years to go.

As per the title, I looked into this and x-sense state that the APP only communicates with the alarms , once every 11 hours ( this is to save alarm battery power ) . THIS SHOULD BE CLEARLY STATED but it isn't.Also what happens to any changes you make via the app , whilst the detector has its battery removed ? Do these changes get made to the alarm/s on the next 'check up' ?Why is none of this mentioned in the manual ?There seems to be NO WAY to force the app to communicate with detector/s, so you have to wait.When triggered the App did make a siren sound / alert , so that works . . But the App + 11 hour delay , makes no senseCONCLUSION: I decided to keep them anyway, because there isnt anything else any better at this price point, plus, the main thing is THEY WORK and will send you a siren alert to your phone, when the alarm is triggered - so the real downside is the app update, its not that bad, but its very bad that its not mentioned in the manual.ALSO, one you install the APP on your phone, YOU are the ADMIN user, you can then send ' invites ' ( just enter in email of person you want ) to someone else, who can also install app and then will see the alarm active on app and GET notified if the alarm is triggered. You can invite anyone , doesnt seem to be a user limit. But only you , have admin rights to make any changes to settings.
