Works great, but instructions could be better
Ordered 2 Switchbot Curtain 3s (without solar panel) to make opening and closing my 112” length Pinch Pleated back tab curtains easy. I found the instructions to be a bit lacking. One important thing not mentioned in the instructions is that you need to hold the ‘add device’ button for several seconds before trying to charge the battery. But with the help of several Youtubes, I did get the two Switchbots installed for center opening (using Bluetooth only). They work great! Will order more Switchbot Curtain 3s for my French door curtains.

Works great
Had these for about a year. Have charged twice. I have automated open and close each morning and evening as well as closing and opening at other times. It is a bit noisy on regular speed but extremely quiet on the quiet slow open mode. The only negative it the stick on sensor to make the curtains stop when closing. They look like I put packing tape on my curtain rod. They could improve that

A little costly for what it does
So in general I am happy with these.I don't like adding yet another IOT eco system, but what can you do.I was able to get these at a good price with a sale so that helps - they seem a bit overpriced..Its very useful in my situation - I have wone window that is very hard to reach and we always struggle with.In another situation its a breezeway that gets very cold in winter so its nice not to have to go in there to close the drapes at night.Seems well made.Battery seems to have good life to it.I have had issues getting the drapes to close fully in one situation. In another situation the bottom drags a bit too much and the drapes can get caught at the top.So that can be annoying - I will probably shorten one set and get new ones for the other situation.

Godsend.
I am somewhat handicapped and this lets me open and close my drapes without trying to stand and close them manually. It’s a Godsend. My granddaughter installed them for me.

I want them to work, but that's not enough.
I want to like this product so much. I've purchased nine of them total for various windows in our house. They all started off mostly fine. We use them with curtain rods, which is how I imagine most people in the U.S. use them. The rods have to be a particular size and, while it says you can use them with an expandable rod (the kind that produces a "bump"), in my experience it struggles a LOT to go over the bump. I've tried the included metal tape sticker. I've tried duct tape and packing tap. None of those things seem to work. I never once got the magnet to work on any of them. I had to exchange two because they stopped charging. Now, about two years after purchasing the first one, almost none of them are still working. Most have totally lost connection with the timer and have to be manually opened and closed in the app. The plastic housing on one of them cracked and now no longer works at all. the "gentle tug" to open thing never really worked either. Like I said, I REALLY want these to work, but they just don't. I would not recommend them.

Such potential, but a fail.
Firstly, don’t expect this install to take less than 15 min.Secondly, you CANNOT use the app to set open/close schedules. You MUST purchase the hub for that.So here I sit 20 min after install and having just got off the phone with Support…. And I’m just frustrated. The app looks like you can schedule, but you don’t find out till you start trying to schedule times that it’s not possible without the hub. Super disappointing. And the noise: I was unable to run it on quiet mode, but my dog was scared of it. You can definitely hear it in normal mode. It would likely wake me up and I’m not a light sleeper.

Works great, easy setup!
The media could not be loaded. I’ve got a huge smarthome setup and have automated quite a few things, so when I ordered this I kind of knew what I was getting myself into. I ordered the product and just let it sit for a while because I was dreading the typical setup > get confused > something goes wrong > troubleshoot for hours loop that typically comes with this kind of product so when I finally got around to installing it, I was pleasantly surprised. The setup was super easy and instructions were clear and concise. It came with everything you need and there were no serious issues.Attached some videos to show the smooth running. I was actually concerned it would struggle with the bump in the curtain rod where the smaller one goes into the bigger one but it had zero issues with it.I also ordered the solar charger to go with it and it snaps right it and hangs from the base of the device, keeping it in sunlight to charge with almost zero installation outside of unboxing and plugging it in.A couple important notes for others that I didn’t know before buying: these aren’t issues at all, but just stuff to be aware of that I didn’t see or didn’t think about before hand.1) If you have a support in the middle of your curtains (like a 3rd bracket in the middle to hold your curtains up), you’ll need a second SwitchBot to open both sides and can’t use just a single one.2) The solar charger does hang down from the main switch bot and would be visible during the day if you had sheer curtains. Some folks may not like that. Also, if your SwitchBot is defaulting to having your curtains all the way to one side or the other, it may not have the solar charger in the window long enough to charge. You CAN fix this, however, because they’ve got a really neat feature built in where you can tell it to auto charge during the day by bringing the SwitchBot into the sunlight no matter where it’s at, when it needs to. This just means your curtains won’t be at your preferred setting for a bit while it charges, but it really beats taking it down and charging.3) Lastly, you do need a slightly thicker curtain rod - not crazy thick, maybe about the size of a US nickel or a little smaller. I have a pretty thin curtain rod on one side where I started, but it’s the telescopic kind so the other side is thicker and I flipped it over and it was fine. The little arms that hang on the rod actually have a lot of room to adjust to account for a lot of sizes, but they can only get so small so if you’ve got very thin curtain rods, be advised. That stuff all told, I’m very happy with mine and am planning to buy a few more now to fill up my curtains! I’m enjoying it quite a bit!

Nice luxury
App control is reliable. We love the convenience of being able to close and open our bedroom curtains without getting up. Definitely more of a luxury and excessive but think its worth the price compared to custom electric blinds/ rollers especially if renting.
