Really does help with engraving

Use of air assist gives cleaner engraving so fine print is more legible and cuts do not have burn marks (assuming the piece isn't sitting flat on a table/board). This was very easy to install on a Longer Ray5 10W laser. Simply remove the existing metal "pyramid" that is shielding the laser and replace with the nozzle in this kit. I used a very small fish tank aerator that we had sitting around with great results for engraving. More air, however, is needed for cutting. To accomplish that, I added an adapter to hook it to my shop air compressor (turned down to about 15 psi). Standard 1/4" OD tubing with push to connect adapters fit perfectly.

Having this Air Assist was an Absolute Necessity for my Longer Laser!!! Why you ask? Well...it clears the cut-path of smoke which can cause beam scattering thus reducing power and precise detail. It reduces smoked edges on your cut material. It keeps your laser objective lens clear and getting hazed from the smoke which also reduces power thus requiring less maintenance in cleaning. So highly recommended to have and an absolute win all the way around!!! As a footnote, if you already have an air compressor you can take a trip to your neighborhood hardware store and get the barbed brass fitting to attach to the hose and then add on the quick connect to attach to your air compressor.

No instructions, seems like laser engravers are just figure it out, 3rd item with no instructions, fortunately I'm mechanically capable of figuring things out, now with 5w l need to by another part, why the hell do you not tell everyone up front what they will need, its all piece meal and now l have a chattery motor about to send it all back
