Almost didn’t get this based on the reviews but am so glad I did! If you’re feeling the same and on the fence — read this!I’ve been looking for a good mercury thermometer as a welcomed alternative to constantly replacing the battery in our digital one. I was particularly hoping to find one that could read in both Fahrenheit AND Celsius and was excited to find this option in my search. This thermometer absolutely delivered! It gives you the best of both worlds, is accurate in its reading (we compared it with our digital one), and easy to reset — if this is your first mercury thermometer, the key is to carefully “shake it like a Polaroid picture” a few times to get the line back down.

Does not work properly, temperatures are always at least 100 F. My bad I didn’t see it can’t be returned. Save yourself a trouble, don’t buy this one unless you want to use it to stay home from school or work. Then you can take your chance.

Simple, old school, reliable thermometer with Fahrenheit and Celsius measurements. Way more accurate and reliable than the digital ones!

I should have listened to the reviews. I thought I would risk it and order this thermometer. No matter whose temp you check it always reads 102. Piece of crap- don’t buy. And I just realized I cannot return it so it’s a scam too. Amazon should remove this item.

gives the same reading for everyone -- I highly doubt that everyone in my family has the exact same temp every day, every time of day. We have tested this over and over and it only gives one temp reading.
