I've purchased 4 or 5 of the plastic rain gauges in the last 10 years. They usually last no more than 2 years, because in the winter time the rain freezes and cracks the plastic. Not only should that not happen with this one, it holds more rain and is much easier to read than the others.

Just received this rain gauge and I feel much better about this one than the previous order that I sent back. It is larger than previous, very clear numbers, and solid hanger with option to stick in the ground. I live in Florida so I am not concerned about any freezing. Flying debris, well, that can smash anything!

Received on time is very good packaging. Made with high-quality materials. I wanted to drill a hole in the metal mount for my application, but was not able to do that because of the hardness and finish of the metal. The plastic vessel seems of high quality and is marked in 10ths of an inch and CM. However, I find it takes me a minute to actually figure out the amount of rain because all the 10th's tick marks are equal, so I actually have to count them from the nearest whole inch mark which is bolder and identified. Overall, I'm very happy with it and looking forward to avoiding a broken vessel from a surprise frost, like I was always getting with glass ones.

this is probably the best rain gauge I've had. It mounts easily on the wooden fence and so far seems good.

Sturdy and versatile. I have it in the ground beside my garden, but will also attach to a post if we decide to move it once the garden is harvested.

I should have read more details on this gauge. It is great but was much too small for my location

I screwed the holder on the fence. Very easy to install., just waiting for Rain now!
