No, the stars will fade in then out (In a loop). But you can turn off the stars, or dim the galaxy light via remote or button on the beside of star projector

Q: how do i use the remote?

Just place 2 pack of AAA batteries into the remote. Make sure the remote is pointing at the infrared sensor. (If it doesn't work, please change the button on star projector from "off" to "on" at first). If you have any questions about the function buttons, you can refer to the manual or send us an email.
