Best AMD 16-core AM5 CPU for gaming enthusiasts!
I was very fortunate that I was able to buy AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D for $699.99. Of course, I have to pay sales tax afterwards. But the reason why I had decided to move over from Intel Core i9-14900KS to AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D was because there are more reports that people are having system stability issue which can cause serious BSOD error. I've tested it myself and I can confirm that I was able to reproduce BSOD error which really drives me mad and I hate have to deal with crash, even though this was updated & flashed with the latest BIOS update. Yes, I use ASUS ROG Maximus Apex Encore Z790 Motherboard. I was very disappointed, and I even set to default settings in the BIOS, and yet my system can still crash at anytime, whether I'm browsing, gaming, and/or editing videos. Therefore, I have decided to move to AMD CPU which I'm very glad it's working no problem. I also bought MSI MEG Godlike X870E Motherboard and had to download and update the latest BIOS from MSI website. Your mileage will vary and will always depend on your motherboard vendor.Other than that, I'm very happy with my purchase and I'm also glad that I get zero crash whatsoever. Performance was excellent, easy to overclock via PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive), supports AVX, AVX2, AVX-512 instruction-set extension, you can play around with thermal throttle temperature limit to prevent CPU overheating which I usually set to 70 degrees Celsius, very easy to install, noise level is not loud, as long as you have proper cooling solution which I use Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC. Of course, you will need to apply thermal paste to have good contact between IHS and cooler heatsink. All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and this was by far the best opportunity to move over from Intel to AMD platform which I understand why the vast majority of customers don't want to spend money on Intel due to the fact that their CPU and microcode was very unstable, not reliable, nor it didn't meet customer's expectation! Nevertheless, AMD is the new king and yet it's no wonder why there's very high for Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16-core CPU for both gaming and content creation!

Extreme Performance, Cool Efficiency — Great Gaming and Productivity
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is the heart of my build, and it delivers exactly what you’d expect from AMD’s top-tier 3D V-Cache processor: exceptional gaming performance, efficient multi-core power, and cool operation under load.Paired with an ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E Hero, G.SKILL DDR5-6000 CL28 EXPO RAM, and cooled by the ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB, this 16-core chip handles everything I throw at it — from 4K gaming to VR on my HIVE Index headset, to heavy multitasking and content creation — all without breaking a sweat. The 3D V-Cache makes a noticeable difference in game frame consistency and CPU-bound workloads, and thermal performance has been excellent with proper cooling and fan tuning. I did update my BIOS for memory compatibility, but the CPU was recognized and running stable out of the box.In combination with a XFX RX 9070 XT GPU and housed in a Corsair 7000D Airflow, the 9950X3D completes a powerhouse configuration that runs cool, fast, and reliably. If you’re looking to future-proof a gaming and productivity rig, this chip is the clear top pick in AMD’s AM5 lineup.

9950x3d is great for productivity and the best for gaming there is no better currently
i was lucky to snag this processor at msrp for 699$. I switched from a 14900ks system that i def started to see performance loss and degradation after about 6 months of using it. The 9950x3d is a complete power house and awesome for gaming at max settings paired with an MSI x870e godlike motherboard and a MSI Vanguard 5090. Super happy with my switch to AMD totally worth it if your looking to play max 4k settings and also just have a super snappy system that blows everything else out the water.

Unmatched Performance for Gamers and Creators.
The AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D is a powerhouse that excels in both gaming and content creation. With 16 cores and 32 threads, it handles multitasking effortlessly. The second-generation 3D V-Cache technology, offering a total of 144MB cache, significantly boosts gaming performance, making it a top choice for enthusiasts. Its base clock of 4.3 GHz and boost up to 5.7 GHz ensure rapid processing speeds .Compared to Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K, the 9950X3D delivers superior gaming performance, with up to 34% higher average frame rates in 1080p gaming benchmarks . While it has a higher TDP of 170W, efficient cooling solutions can manage this effectively. Overall, the 9950X3D offers exceptional value for those seeking top-tier performance in gaming and productivity tasks.

The fastest CPU doesn't do any good, when the PC won't boot.
I've used AMD for years & owned a PC company. I was upgrading my socket 4 to 5 with this CPU..I thought. I tried 4 motherboards, MSI, Gigabyte, Asus and MSI, All 870E chipsets, meaning higher end boards. I tried 2 AMD CPUs, the 9950x3d and 9950x, I went through 3 sets of 64g DDR5 ram and could only get 1 stick to run on 1 board. I did the most recent Bios updates after booting failed. I tried 2 different 1000w power supplies. And went through Tech Support of each board company! After 1 month of shipments and returns with Amazon, Who I thank so much, I ordered a Intel 9 Ultra 285k w a MSI Z890 Edge TI WI Fi. Dropped in the Gskill Ram, the Intel CPU and it worked the way it's supposed to , booted right up to the bios. No issues. I've read here of people using the 9950x3d with no problems, I was even using the same board and memory, but didn't work for me. The AMD cpu has only been out for 3 months, so future bios updates my make things better, MB companies were putting out bios updates every 10 days. So try it if you want, but keep this in mind.

The price is $699
Waited for the restock at $699 and it was well worth it. This is everything I wanted my 7950X3D to be and then some. Without tuning I beat my old Cinebench R23 score by over 15000 points! Seeing improvement across the board for anything I throw at it. Highly recommend when it is priced correctly at $699.
